I’ve followed Amy Tan’s work for a while now. She inspires me, plain and simple. She recently created a handbook to help us dial into our creativity. Here’s the link if you want to join us!
Amy and her friend, Jaime Waters, did a little video of how they created their first pages. So inspiring!
I’ve had this on my list for a few days to work on myself. Then today school was closed due to icy weather, so I printed two and worked on it with my son. We had a great time. Here’s what we came up with.
My son chose to highlight the seasons in his good idea section. He drew a bird for the spring; arrows moving fast for summer because it goes by way too fast, a desk with a pencil for fall because that’s when school starts, and used a snowflake stamp for winter. He recently was sick so he drew the word with a line through it for the less of this section. For more of this, he wants to travel more with family.
Funny mine included more travel too! and I want to live a simple life. I was so into the project that i spelled family wrong! oops! I’m all about things that are pretty so mine had to have flowers in them.
We used some stamps, some scrapbook paper, washi tape, stickers, colored pencils, pastels and crayons. It was a blast! Thanks Amy!
