And now for my essential oil recipe…

All Natural Deodorant with Bergamot, Lemon and Geranium Essential Oils

A few years ago I began to look at the enormous amount of chemicals I put in and on my body and started to make some big changes. What we put in or on our bodies was replaced with organic alternatives, such as this natural deodorant.

When I first opened the bottle of bergamot, my mind went to my favorite tea, Earl Grey. I am enamored with the scent of it so I knew it would make the perfect deodorant for me and the lemon and geranium really compliment the bergamot. Here’s what you’ll need

6 Tbs Raw Organic Shea Butter
2 Tbs Organic Coconut Oil
3/4 Cup Arrowroot Powder
4 Tsp Baking Soda
10 Drops Bergamot
5 Drops Lemon
1 Drop Geranium

(Click here to learn more about purchasing essential oils if you do not have them already)

Note: If you’ve come to our blog hop via another gal, please make sure your place your order through them.

Mix the arrowroot powder (from amazon) and baking soda in a small bowl and put aside. Melt the Coconut Oil (I get mine from Trader Joe’s) and the Shea Butter (from amazon) in a double boiler.

When it’s melted remove from heat.

Pour the melted shea butter and coconut oil in the bowl with the arrowroot powder and baking soda. Stir until combined.

Add 10 drops Bergamot. And gently stir.

Add 5 drops Lemon.

And 1 drop Geranium.

Pour mixture into a 4 ounce glass jelly jar.

I found these cute labels on line from World Label that are perfect for my jars.

Here’s my label. Feel free to use it. I cut it out with my 2 1/2 inch circle punch.

Note: If you prefer, you can substitute 15 drops of any essential oils you like.

This recipe will be included in the Handmade Handout Linky Party.

Enjoy! Thank you for joining us. Don’t forget to comment and hop along to the next blooger!

I can’t wait to try this one! I made my own with my oils but I think this one will smell even better! I write a lot about natural deodorant and how harmful the aluminum-filled ones are. Thank you!!

I really wanna try making my own deodorant but the ones I’ve tried in the past have irritated my skin and I’m not sure if it was the baking soda or what?
