I love receiving pampering items for Christmas, but there’s something about a homemade item that melts my heart to the core.  It means that someone took the time to make something special just for me.  And anyone who knows me these days knows that I don’t want to put a bunch of toxic chemicals in my body, so this scrub is perfect. Whether for a girlfriend who is hosting a gathering or my son’s school teacher, this peppermint sugar scrub is a great gift and it’s simple to make. All you need is sugar, grape seed oil and peppermint essential oil.

1 1/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Grape Seed Oil
14-15 Drops Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil

(Click here to learn more about purchasing essential oils if you do not have them already)

Mix the sugar in a bowl and pour in grape seed oil until it resembles sand.

Then add the peppermint essential oil.

Put the mixture into a jar.  This recipe fills 2 of these half pint jars.

And then dress it up all Christmas-like!

I bought the wooden sticks, raffia and Christmas washi tape at Michaels.

I just took a small piece of the washi tape and wrapped it around the end of the wooden stick then tied some raffia around the car in a bow and stuck the stick in the raffia.  Voila!

By the way, I found this amazing group of gals who love to make beautiful things like I do. So I’m jumping in and adding my stuff to their incredible list and gathering up ideas for future projects. score!

LOVE this! It is so darn cute, I just may have to make a few for those last minute little gifts that seem to pop up. I use YL too and love them so much:)
