Like many of us, it’s easy to fall behind in our Project Life albums. I used to have to finish a page before I could put it down. Now I just don’t put that pressure on myself! I’m content with making progress.
We recently went strawberry picking. I picked the page protector I wanted to use and printed off some photos of the day and then put it down.
Today I want to come back to it and finish it with some journaling and embellishments. I came across some printables from Studio Calico. It was included in the March 2013 printables offering.
I printed the sheet and cut out the all smiles journaling card to fit the pocket. Then I typed my journaling in word and taped the journaling card to paper and reran it through the printer. easy peasy!
then i cut two arrow tags and two circles. the tags were adhered to photos and the circles adhered together back to back to we can peek through the pocket. I used my sewing machine to make sure they stay in the middle. Lastly, I had a flair button in my basket I keep on my desk, probably from another Studio Calico kit. and voila! all done!
It seems like I’m always playing catch up with my PL and i’m actually ok with that. I want to enjoy the process, so if i take an afternoon and do several pages, it’s all good! I used to try to work on it every other day, and my life right now just doesn’t accommodate that. Sometimes you just have to roll with it. And I’m rolling!
This year I’m working with a SNAP 6×8 binder from Simple Stories. I’ve done the 12×12 Project Life albums for the last several years and felt like doing something a little different.
I found the clip board quote on Pinterest. Love it. Then I cut 2 3×4 pieces of patterned paper from the Lucky Charm collection. The hello 2014 was a freebie I also found on pinterest. The yellow card is from the Planetarium collection i had left over in my stash and the design of the card i stole from Susan Weinroth.
I finally was able to finish my album! Woot! December 10 we bought Despicable Me 2 and had family movie time.
I love using my sewing machine and sequins. Cute!
I bought from amazon a coin collector protector and chose photos of Christmas decor around the house.
We had a cookie exchange with neighbors. YUM.
I love love love these rings from Silpada.
I wanted a little bling on Christmas. My light pink nails with a little sparkle is so me!
Made my famous chili. YUM!
I like to collect random shots from Christmas magazines to include in my album.
Jared has his own tree in his room. Everything is red since that’s his favorite color. He loves his own tree.
Elf is one of our Christmas movie favorites.
Lamar got me a new iPhone! and it’s orange! LOVE!!!!!
I need to remind myself that Christmas is about the birth of our Lord ABOVE ALL!
We went to the Biltmore for the first time. OH MY GOSH! incredible.
We went for a walk in Traveler’s Rest. Feeling the town out for a house!
It seems like many of us are playing catch up with December Daily, and I’m actually ok with that! Making the memories is more important to me than documenting them. I find I kinda like doing a few pages at a time anyway! I wanted to have some of my son’s drawings in my December Daily so i had him draw me a Christmas tree!
My mom was visiting, so it’s great to see them reading together. I treasure that now we have moved 15 minutes apart as opposed to a 6 hour plane ride, we will get to have a lot more of these moments!
My brother surprised me with this Christmas candy we used to get every year when we were little. I LOVE IT!
My husband bought me Christmas tulips. What a month this has been!
Can’t have Christmas without Michael Buble!
My mom gave me this reindeer basket she made years ago. It’s one of my favorite items to put out at Christmas time.
December 2 was pretty simple. I have built up such an amazing stash of products over the years. Part of what I love about this time of year is watching Christmas movies. A Christmas Carol with Jim Carey is one of my favorites. Here’s a few closeups:
Most of these cards were in my stash. I just added some sequins and stars to jazz them up a bit. I especially love the red dot i put on the reindeer’s nose!
Whoo hooo!!!!! December 1 has finally arrived! I am so excited to be doing my December Daily again! This is my first year using a kit, but I always like to combine other items as well from other collections. Here’s a few close ups of Day 1.
I thought this mouse was so cute! It sets the tone for the album. I like to have a playful tone with some craft colored items and some reds and greens.
I began with a cream colored paper in my stash cut to 6X8 inches. The paper has some gradients and texture in it, which fits my hand made, kind of heritage colored style. I printed “25″ on a regular piece of paper and taped it to the back and cut it out with scissors to make the window. Then i outlined the window with Stickles. Then i added a few stickers to finish the cover.
Next i cut a white piece of cardstock down to 6×8 and put colorful items all over it. I bought a big container of sequins and just started gluing! I had some other embellishments from my stock and i simply filled the page up.
I love how it turned out! December Daily is one of my favorite projects of the year. There are so many other artists out there who provide some great inspiration! How’s your December Daily coming along?
We spent the afternoon at Roper Mountain Science Center and had a perfect day. They had so many wonderful exhibits to see! We saw a brand new butterfly, touched a snake, pet a sting ray, and got to participate in how life was in the 1800′s! It was wonderful!
